Welcome to Desara Miniature Pinschers. We are located in quiet central Pennsylvania and are owned and loved by several MinPins. We were first introduced to this marvelous breed almost 10 years ago and fell in love with their wonderful zest and curious nature immediately. Although I have been involved with dogs since the early 70's, none have given me more joy and satisfaction like the Miniature Pinscher.

Here the summers are warm and the winters are cold, but nothing compares to the splendor of fall.Our first dog was a Newfoundland that we purchased in 1976. The next 15 years were dedicated to raising, training, and showing these gentle giants.

RisingStar was born in 1991 when I got my first show dog from Gloria Knapp of Chateau Acres fame. Chateau Acres Almond Joy, also known affectionately as "JoJo", was a well bred girl who quite simply decided that she hated the show ring. I learned so much by showing her and finally I realized that she just wasnt meant to be a show dog, however she more than made her mark in the breed in the whelping box and eventually became a Hall of Fame producer with 8 Champions to her credit.

My name is Ruth Riley, and I have been showing Miniature Pinschers in AKC conformation events since 1998. I have shown four of my dogs to their Championship title with some help from handlers, and am currently showing two dogs from my own breeding program as well as one which I co-own. I enjoy preparing my dogs for a show and presenting them in a professional way.

My love for our breed began in 1978 when I purchased what I thought was just a pet. I later learned she came from the then well known Haymount Kennels. That dog turned out to be the Grandmother to my first homebred champion, Ch. Whitehouse's Te N Te, who later became a Hall Of Fame sire.
